By the time James Macintyre died in 1868, he had established the firm of James Macintyre and Co. as one of Britain’s leading manufacturers of pottery and porcelain. The company continued to thrive and in 1898 William Moorcroft took over as head designer. Under his leadership a fantastic range of art pottery was produced.
Today, Moorcroft pottery has never been more popular, and the other work of the Macintyre factory is also eagerly sought by collectors from all over the globe.
