LADY LUCK DID SMILE ON JIM
[Gilbert J. W. Phillips]

£6.99
LADY LUCK DID SMILE ON JIM

“Jim did not hesitate. One swift movement was all it needed before the case was in Jim’s bag and he was in the middle of a throng of tourists . . .”

When Jim snatched that case, his career as a down-and-out petty thief came to an end. This was the big time. The case contained a million dollars in banknotes and from now on Jim knew he was a hunted man.

“I’ve been a soldier, a sailor, an entrepreneur and a rogue. Now I’m a writer.”

Gilbert Phillips joined the Home Guard in the Second World War before enlisting in the RAF, where he became an enthusiastic member of their sailing club. While serving in Singapore, he received the Oak Leaf for gallantry and devotion to duty.

After leaving the RAF, he moved to County Durham, where he founded his own successful firm, Phillips-James Engineering (North East) Ltd.

Now in his eighties, Gilbert has turned his hand to writing. His autobiography, I Will Not Do That Again, was published in 2006, when he earned a Lifetime Learners award from East Durham and Houghall Community College. Lady Luck Did Smile on Jim is his first published novel.
