Elizabeth Stanley–Mallett is foremost a woman’s poet. Not of the classical or of today’s modernist school, yet her work is contemporary with a touch of traditionalism.
Elizabeth produces light verse in which she describes her observations and views of life, on diverse subjects and themes. In this, her first sole volume, Elizabeth’s poems are sure to attract the reader’s interest and imagination.
The words of each descriptive verse, conjure up thought––provoking images, sometimes nostalgic, sometimes contemplative and always captivating.
From poems of encouragement to victims, traversing the spectrum to the comedian ‘treading the boards’, each subject is treated to the author’s unique style and outlook on the world.
Her poems have been previously published in various journals, e.g. Forward Press books of poetry etc. In the past she has collaborated with her husband, Keith, in producing three volumes of poetry. These books were published by AH Stockwell Ltd of Devon. The current book, The Door, is the first volume that is solely her own work.
All the poems in this book are original and previously unpublished.
