‘This is a lovely book, it held my interest from beginning to end. No bad language which makes a refreshing change. Well researched, the author described Alderney and the Channel Islands filled with lots of interesting extra details which helped to paint a picture of the island and its history. I also liked the way the story built up to the point where I needed to find out how it ended. The character Francesca was described as the jealous woman and certainly lived up to that description. In all a credit to Marilyn Parkes- Seddon on a first novel, keep up the good work.’
